Viña del Mar is believed to be only a beach resort city…. but just like the world is not flat, the stereotype is quite wrong. We believe it has a rich cultural history worth discovering, full of iconic views, hidden neighborhoods and interesting social contrasts.
Do not get out your beach towel until you have discovered the treasures of Viña del Mar. This 2-3 hour outing will unveil Chilean costumes and idiosyncrasies that you might otherwise not perceive on your own. Viña del Mar is considered to be Chile´s capitol for quality living. Why? It´s more than the beach. Food, friends, football, these are the stories you will live on our outing.
To make sure everyone has a good experience on our tours, we aim to keep groups relatively small. In our experience, big groups traveling together have a higher than average no show rate, and can commandeer the tour and make other guests feel unwelcome. To be fair to all of our customers, we ask that groups of over 8 to reserve a private tour or contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Why take Tours4Tips? This is Viña del Mar best pay-what-you-like tour. What could be better than to pay what you feel is fair? Our freelance Wally’s guides are selected on the basis of how much they love Viña del Mar and have a passion to share it with you. Do you wish for an experience more unique and memorable than the other generic bus tours? Then jump on board!
Are you looking to get the most out of Viña del Mar in just a few hours or even a day? If you think Morrissey, classist conspiracy theories and our former dictator Pinochet sound like an intriguing combination for a city tour, we think you will remember this city walking tour.
Who should avoid our tours? Does your TripAdvisor profile have more 2 and 3 star reviews than 5? Then you see the glass half-empty and we are not your cup of tea. We are a tour company packaged for everyone’s budget, but anxious and pessimistic visitors aren’t welcome: we all left stressful jobs to make less and love more. We take our time to meet, greet and share life stories. We offer private tours if you do not like group tours of 10-15 people.

Reloj de Flores
Start time. 3pm: Find your bilingual freelance Wally guide waiting for you in front of the famous floral time clock called Reloj de Flores. In case you don’t know Wally wears a white and red striped T-shirt (in Viña del Mar, this is easier to find than in the fun kid’s books).
Definitely the most important place in Viña del Mar, and also the most underrated. You’ll find political residences and castles with unique architecture which make Cerro Castillo a must-see.
This castle is one of the buildings that gives “Cerro Castillo” its name. Did you know every single brick of this property came directly from France? Let your guide tell you a little bit more about why.
Why come to Viña and not get lost in one of its best neighborhoods? Recreo is just the place to take a stroll, meet a local, eat a pastry, order some pizza or find a friendly beer joint. This quaint and quiet barrio barrio is one of the most sought after places to live, for those Viñamarinos who actually live permanently in Viña. Come see why.
Locals use it regularly… and once you do, you will know why this connection is a treasure. Laid back, inexpensive, clean, the metro tren is a direct line between Valparaiso’s port and the countryside outskirts of Viña like Olmue and Limache.
Well known for its 19th century palace, the Quinta Vergara should be a mandatory stop for beach lovers looking for a bit of shade. José Francisco Vergara left his property for city use and we are lucky to have its rich oasis of flor and fauna.
Festival de Viña del Mar
On this tour you will learn not only why Latin America’s most important music festival was canceled in 1974, but how The Police remember this scenario. It is here where we will explain how our local crowd earned the nickname The Monster over the years and who has been booed off the stage over the past decades.
