Two of us had a lovely afternoon being shown round the vineyard by Antonia, who explained everything about the growing of vines and different types of wine, which we were shown how to taste and appreciate. A great guide, genuinely interested and interesting, many thanks.

A Half-Day Escape By Bike Amongst Chile’s Finest Wines
The Maipo Valley, a hidden oasis on the outskirts of Santiago, is the perfect place to savor the best of Chile’s wine culture. Pedal by the Andean foothills deep into Chilean countryside on either our morning or afternoon tour. We travel along on the edge of the world’s largest vineyard, ending our 9-km outing at a quaint, boutique winery, William Fevre. Imagine yourself on vacation, riding a green bike in the middle of a vineyard with the Andes towering in the background. This unique experience is enough to make anyone envious!
With a La Bicicleta Verde wine and bike tour, you can be more green, support local businesses, and have a lot more fun! There’s no better way to escape the city for a few hours than gently cycling in the fresh mountainous air. The natural beauty and high quality wines originally brought us to the Maipo Valley, but is our vineyard partners, who believe that bikes should be part of our local sustainability, that have convinced us to stay (not that we needed much push!). The Green Gurus (your guides) are wine experts and will make you feel comfortable during the experience.

Las Majadas de Pirque
Meet your green T-shirted guide at the impressive 19th century mansion Las Majadas de Pirque, located just outside Santiago city limits. Upon arriving to the valley we will be outfitted with helmets and bikes for a beautiful 1 to 1.5 hour ride through Maipo Valley, before making our way to a family owned vineyard, William Fevre.
Head to the vineyard
After the first hour of cycling our way alongside the 100 year old vines, we stop to talk about how this valley was born, including the grapes, and what is special about this unique terroir. Take in the countryside, the locals calling out their “hola” to us, and a few stops in the shade for a break, or a pic of the impressive panoramic views of the mountains that follow us through the route.
William Fevre Vineyard
Our final destination is obvious, a vineyard, the winery, tasting… Chilean grapes! We will get off our bikes, and your guru will explain the wine making process as we walk through the modern production rooms. Onwards we go, seeing equipment used to make wine of all varieties, whites, medium reds, and bold reds alike. A super relaxing morning/afternoon will be had, accompanied by 4 tastings. Ask us anything — we are certain to know, especially if your question is about wine!
Don’t forget to check out the wine shop at the end for some affordable vino to take home… or just drink.

Easy bike ride through a beautiful vineyard with the Andes in the background. After the bike ride an in depth wine tasting. I would highly recommend this tour!
I had a great time on my bike tour of the vineyard. Our guide Mari was cool and was very knowledgeable about wine and the history of wine in Chile. Definitely a great way to spend half a day in Santiago.
