Ayllu is an ancient community that divided up their land by which clan they were specifically apart of. It was created by the Altiplano people who inhabited these desert sites and further allowed for the settlement and development of these cultures. They managed the landscape to survive in the most complex conditions of this isolated place, in the middle of the driest desert in the world.
Why take this tour, and why take it with La Bicicleta Verde? If you are one of those type of people that wants to discover life before so-called civilisation, how this culture survived before roads, drinking water and imported products, we give you an introduction to understand the agricultural and livestock system that managed to create life in the infertile earth.
Why should you NOT take this tour? We made a list of 7 types of people who we don’t recommend our tours to and you can see it on this link ( 7 people who are not welcome.) We made a list of 7 people who are not welcome. #1 says: “People who want everything organized perfectly from day one to the final departure.”
This activity visits unexpected, full of life places with an abundance of trees and vegetation which is the exact opposite of what we expect a desert to look like.
