Rights+Debate=Education?

The Educasion Shilena expo tries to display the crisis that Chilean public and private education has faced over the last few years with the student movement. 19 illustrators drew up their personal depiction of the crisis and put it on display for you this week. Go check out the work of Carmen Gloria Núñez, Romina Ortega Mella, Tite Calvo and Juan Carlos JOTA ampuero.

Feliz Año Nuevo!

June 21 happens to be the day that our indigenous ancestors, el pueblo Mapuche, celebrate their new year or We Tripantu. This ceremonia is the shortest of the year and the start of the coldest part of the year as well. Two special concerts and shows will be put on to honor this day under the name Ciclo Sonidos y Territorios: On Friday the 20th, Colectivo Chasky and Tuwún will show their respects by presenting Pewma, and on Saturday 21, Mora Lucay and Auna will dedicate some musical notes to this important day.

A non-STOP Saturday

Two big parties are planned for this Saturday and you cannot miss them. At La Vela Bar (10PM. $2.000. Serrano 537) the legandary 90s band Parkinson will be playing along with Ironia Radial, Kdaver Exquisito and Cuchilla E Mono. Or go check out Ele Bar (11PM. $3.000. General Cruz 335) where Silvestre mixes cumbia, folklore and rock like no other.

A Playful Monday Anyone?

It is called ‘Especial Noche de San Juan’ and held in the Teatro del Títere y el Payaso to depict the fight of temptation between Apostle John and the devil, but with a funny storyline, that includes poems, rhymes, games, evil curses and special potions to keep you warm and cheerful.
